Yuval Pit Bull Rescue in Israel

Organized by Sharon Avnon

A cry for help!
Dear family of supporters,

This time our cry for help is desperate, emerging from a deep and serious crisis we found ourselves in. Our shelter expanded significantly due to a move into a bigger location and the need to save so many dogs from such horrific conditions, they could not have been turned down. The added expenses and the reality of one person caring for his 100 babies in an appropriate and loving way cannot be sustained without your help. But because of the constant work (and the expansion of my human family in recent days) I was unable to post updates, photos and new stories, which, in turn, contributed to the funds drying up.

The debt at the veterinarian has reached 30,000 NIS and we are unable to continue bring dogs for treatment (recent procedures are explained in the posts that's in my profile). Many visits recently were complicated and pricy and that, combined with few donations - which make up our entire budget - led to this enormous, growing debt.

This is only one out of three large bills, and the biggest among them, that's hanging over our pit-bull refuge - the only facility in Israel dedicated to rehabilitating these wonderful dogs. We really need your assistance to climb out of this worrisome situation.

Every contribution would help - as well as sharing this note with others.

Please let our babies live! Open your hearts and pocketbooks to give as much as you can.

Thank you for caring,

Yuval and his babies

Yuval
Yuval is a young guy, 34 year old, that has completely and utterly dedicated his life to rescue Pit Bulls.
What everyone needs to understand is that these dogs are illegal in Israel. You need a special permit from the local city hall to own a Pit Bull, with that said Yuval runs his rescue center alone (with the help of his very dedicated girlfriend, Naama). Legally he can’t take on volunteers (cause no one will provide insurance him for that) and he can’t have adoption days, he needs to find adopters from word to mouth. He has taken upon himself quiet a mission! He currently has 10 dogs that are part of his pack and 50 rescue dogs living in very spacious cages that Yuval himself built. Each and every dog gets his daily rehabilitation therapy which includes roaming for an hour freely in a 150 yard, fenced dog run Yuval created specially for the dogs that includes toys, slides and pools in the summer.Yuval walked with me and told me each and every dogs story, there rehabilitation progress and any concerns he had for each dog. There were some cases that were just horrific! For example – Efi, a dog that only wants to live crumbled up on a shelf in the storage room. Any time you touch him or come close he poops. It was so heartbreaking to think of the abuse this terrified dog went through.
Yuval is struggling financially and is hardly holding the place together. He is begging for any donation. Every dollar will help. I created a chipin for him and all donations go towards vet bills, dog food and building supplies to maintain the center. Please consider to help! Bless you all and know that you are donating for a wonderful cause and to a man that has truly chosen to make a difference in this world.
